In 1998, I attended an introductory course at the Bayly School of Reflexology in London. The School was founded in 1978, by the late Doreen Bayly, and was the first reflexology training school to be established in Great Britain. Doreen Bayly introduced reflexology to the UK in the 1960’s, on behalf of Eunice Ingham, and was considered by many to have been the pioneer of reflexology in this country.
My mother had attended the same course before me and I knew that it would be something that I enjoyed.
After attending the course, I continued my interest in reflexology and developed my interests in all kinds of energy work. I practiced tai chi for some years, and also studied massage and reiki, alongside my day-to-day working life.
When my mother died, I felt a strong desire to become a fully qualified reflexologists (as she had been) and to dedicate myself fully to the profession. I gained a Distinction in Reflexology at the Devon School of Reflexology. Coincidentally, my teacher's own mother had also qualified at the Bayly School, and this has given me a strong sense of continuing the 'lineage' and doing what I am meant to be doing, finally!
I enjoy my work immensely, and feel very lucky to have my own treatment room in my garden.
My approach is deeply holistic, viewing each client as a whole person rather than a collection of symptoms, which allows me to create bespoke treatment plans that nurture both physical and emotional well-being.
I uphold the high standards of the Association of Reflexologists, of which I am a member, to ensure safe, effective practice. Please take a moment to watch the short video below which demonstrates the importance of being affiliated with a professional, reputable organization such as the AOR.
